Harley Davidson

When you are talking about motorcycles there is no brand that is more famously known than that of Harley Davidson. The company is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and it has just brought out a new model, specifically aimed at the European market. Most of the bikes that Harley Davidson sells are heavy weight motorcycles but the model for European sales is slightly more lightweight to suit the demand.

The more traditional models are motorcycles that are usually used for cruising on the American highways. Although these motorcycles are fast, these are not usually seen racing bikes.

This style of motorcycle is well noted for giving rise to the chopper style of motorcycles. The following (or fan base) for Harley Davidson is huge, and not just a craze for the infamous hell’s angel. The company that makes almost five percent of its income coming from its logo alone, which equates to around 41 million dollars annually. The Harley Davidson logo is a symbol that is highly respected by bikers. When looking for a quality bike, nothing much beats a Harley for quality and prestige.

Harley Davidson have had flaunts into designs that are not recognized as traditional to their normal image. The small German influenced Hummer design was a move into the small bike world-not universally recognized by many as coming from the Harley Davidson stable. Moving into the 125 cc and 250 cc categories was an attempt to give variability and wider choice. Different schools of thought argue whether these major and somewhat drastic steps were good decisions. Some argue that without it, the Company would have had too narrow a product portfolio, whilst others believe there is only one brand of Harley Davidson and that is represented by the heavy weight roadsters which were the cornerstone of the brand.

Whichever side of the fence you sit on, Harley Davidson is still traditionally pictured by most people as the stereotype chopper with the big heart and throbbing exhaust that can never be truly replicated by anyone else. To the ardent enthusiast, there is no substitute for the real thing and the reason why the cult following is as strong as ever.
